California Rodeo Salinas: Oldest Running Rodeo in California

Each year, the California Rodeo Salinas draws visitors from throughout California and beyond. 

It’s a family-friendly event, but it’s also a true rodeo that features bucking broncos in a rodeo ring and both ranch and Western competitions such as lassoing, roping, barrel racing, bulldogging and more.

The California Rodeo Salinas is the oldest running rodeo in the state of California, and one of the largest national rodeos. It has over 100 years of tradition and history, full of cowboy hats, country music, and more fun than you can shake a stick at!

This year’s festivities kick off on Thursday, September 23 with a kickoff party complete with Western-themed games for kids. 

The following days till Sunday, September 26, 2021, will be filled with various activities, including live performances by famous actors, portraying historical figures.

You will also keep busy with the different rounds of rodeo, often beginning at noon. Afterwards, you can always stick around and hang out with everyone else.
