Letter From the Chef


Thank you for your interest in Montrio Bistro. My name is Tony Baker and I am Montrio Bistro’s Executive Chef. As Chef, I am committed to ensure that we exceed the expectations of every guest dining at Montrio. With over 20 years in the business and a great team to back me up, you can be sure that Montrio Bistro is the right spot for your next event. 

As a British transplant, I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to cook in Monterey. I have an amazing array of fresh seafood, produce and meat available to me and much of it is sourced just moments away. I work closely with local farmers, ranchers and fishermen to ensure you enjoy only the freshest sustainable ingredients. Whether your event is a small gathering of friends or a large corporate party, I never compromise the integrity of ingredients used.

Our goal at Montrio Bistro is to create an atmosphere of “easy elegance” at your event. We will provide your guests with delicious food featuring fresh, sustainable ingredients served with the highest level of attentive, comfortable service. Our goal is that your needs are not only met, but exceeded and that your only challenge will be to figure out how soon you can come back! I look forward to serving you and your guests.
